CONTRIBUTE MILK CARTONS

Your empty milk and juice cartons can carry a bigger message before they become trash.
By cleaning, saving and contributing them, you help us turn a common household waste material into useful packaging and start more conversations about what we consume and discard.
This is a collective effort for our shared planet, which is why we call them contributions, not donations.

10,000+ milk cartons given a second life since 2019.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

PLEASE
CONTRIBUTE ONLY
IF

  • You are prepared to clean and dry the cartons properly.
  • You live, work or regularly pass near one of our drop-off points.
  • You can save about 20 cartons and pass them to us together.
KEEP THE JOURNEY PRACTICAL

BATCH BEFORE
PASSING THEM TO
US

Please save about 20 clean, dry cartons before contributing.

A smaller batch is fine when you are already making an on-the-way trip near one of our drop-off points.

We want the initiative to reduce waste while minimising the carbon footprint needed to make it work.

WATCH THE CLEANING
GUIDE

Not sure which cartons we accept or how clean they need to be?

Watch our short guide before you begin. It shows the carton types we can use and how to clean them properly.

CARTONS WE
ACCEPT

  • Square-based 1-litre or 473ml milk and juice cartons
  • White or paper-lined interiors
  • Whole and unflattened, with the top flap intact and cap on
  • Thoroughly cleaned, completely dry, and able to pass both the sight and smell test

CARTONS WE DO
NOT ACCEPT

  • Rectangular-based UHT cartons
  • Aluminium-lined cartons, including many oat milk, almond milk and coconut water cartons
  • Cut, opened or flattened cartons
  • Cartons with stains, residue, mould, trapped moisture or lingering smells
HOW TO CLEAN THEM PROPERLY

FIVE SIMPLE STEPS

1

RINSE
IMMEDIATELY

Rinse the carton as soon as it is empty.

2

ADD WATER
AND SHAKE

Fill it about one-quarter full, close the cap and shake vigorously so the water reaches every corner. Repeat as needed.

3

CHECK INSIDE

Look through the spout and give it a quick smell test. It should look clean with no sour, stale or musty odour.

4

SHAKE OUT THE
WATER

Shake and tap until no water remains inside.

5

DRY
COMPLETELY

Leave the carton open in a well-ventilated or sunny spot. Replace the cap only when fully dry.
